Tired of inspirational travel quotes? You aren’t alone

Stolen from Buzzfeed

Seriously, how many times have you seen this show up on social media in the last few days? Don’t get me wrong, I am slightly obsessed with the idea of travel. That doesn’t mean that I LOVE inspiring quotes (some are really good though).

As I have followed more travel-related bloggers recently, I have seen a surge in the amount of “inspirational quotes” being used over and over, and that’s great. If that quote becomes the basis from which you carry yourself forward, that’s awesome. However, if you have seen that inspirational quote way too many times you may be looking for something a little more “current” or goofy. For the ladder half of us, here is a collection of my favourite quotes and videos on travel. You don’t have to take it as serious as your favourite quote:

“Kilometers are shorter than miles. Save gas, take your next trip in kilometers.” –George Carlin More of a tip that anything (sarcasm)

“When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money” – Susan Heller. How REAL did that quote just get? Inspiring? Yessss.

“Travel becomes a strategy for accumulating photographs.” – Susan Sontag. NOT ENOUGH PICTURES. Do I use Instagram, or should I send 50 more snaps #MemoriesForever #Travel #Hashtag

“The worst thing about being a tourist is having other tourists recognize you as a tourist.” – Russell Baker Leave your flags at home, for goodness sakes (IMO)

“People don’t take trips. . .trips take people.” – John Steinbeck

Saved my favourite video for last:
