On To The Next One: New Zealand

As previously mentioned, I think my next significant trip will be to New Zealand. I don’t see it happening in the next 2-3 years, but like my 3 month trip to Europe, I started planning years in advance.

Every few weeks, I’ll add more information. I’ll source info on destinations, accommodation, culture, food, and transportation. For now, I’ll try leave you with some inspiration to visit New Zealand.

I feel New Zealand is often ignored. When I talk to travellers, a lot of them are planning for Australia as their “next one”. Australia seems to get most of the attention (for good reasons). I was the same, and I didn’t really think of New Zealand until I met a bunch of people from there. They showed me pictures of their getaways in their country. If you live in New Zealand, you have an incredible opportunity to visit a diverse range of hot spots in the country. From what I have seen and what I’ve started to research, I believe New Zealand is more like a condensed Canada, but exponentially more explorable. But rather than writing too much (as usual), I’m going to leave you with some links to some big sources of inspiration to visit this country. Enjoy.

HK2NY- Karl Watson:

HK2NY is a travel documentary series that highlights a 9 month backpacking trip from Hong Kong to New York (Karl Watson and his friend James Walsh). In this episode, Karl summarized their experience in New Zealand. You will notice they chose to stick with Kiwi Experience, and we’ll do some research into them later. Just enjoy the episode!

  1. I’m hoping to go to New Zealand for the first time in a few months! It’s funny I always hear the opposite. Everyone I know what’s to go to New Zealand and everyone ignores Australia!
