Montreal Street Art: Part 1

Montreal, May 2017

By now, if you follow along on here or on the Insta- you may have noticed what my grandma would call a ‘shit ton’ of street art/graffiti pictures. Which is super cool to me. Growing up, I had no interest in anything art related. Fast Forward to 25 and I think this would be one area that I find myself obsessing over for the rest of my life…

I have not travelled far and wide just yet, but I firmly believe that Montreal is host to some of the best graffiti, murals or other street art. Graffiti was a big part of the reason I fell in love with Porto, and Montreal has been no different. I cannot wait to go back (post mural fest) to see the updated walls of the city 😀

The following is just one small selection of some of my favourites, and I tried to include a good mix of pure graffiti and murals for you! I think I will roll this one out over the next four posts. Enjoy!

It’s the smallest details on the tiniest of side streets that really impressed me here. Every turn, I found myself facing a new beauty

Anyone remember this guy? Omlet du formaggge!?

I’m not sure what the mushrooms are referencing. Hmm…

Probably my second favourite. Montreal has at least 5 alleys I have found that give Graffiti Alley (Toronto) a run for it’s money, and this is at the end of one of them 😉 TWEETY BIRD^

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows :O

I’ll have what he’s having

When you need to get a picture of garbage cans in their natural habitat…

That’s all for now folks! Tah-tah for now!
